Hummingbirds Sing to the Dawning Sky
Hummingbirds sing to the dawning sky,
Chorusing to the rising climb.
Hope and happiness persist at its high,
Thanks to the everlasting summertime.
Wrinkling leaves dance one last time,
Straining for the bright beams to bestow just a wave
Before the trifling stars could splatter the skyline
And outshine the only light that I crave.
As my thoughts shiver and cower into a cave,
My toiling for a losing battle fades to barely a flutter.
The warmth array of leaves conclude their last tremble of faith;
Then, the monotone snow blankets the final peek of color.
The sun, my love, shatter me piece by piece
Until it restores my heart and strikes again, this disease.
