Starbucks Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Latte
It's pumpkin spice season! Some say it's like fall in a cup. Others say it's bland or too sugary. I decided to find out for myself.
The Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte has been one of the most popular drinks at Starbucks in a long time. It blew up on Tik Tok and Instagram for its fall “vibes” and delicious flavors. The drink includes a chai tea base, fluffy melt in your mouth pumpkin coldfoam, and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice on the top.
This drink may not be sweet to some tasters, but it actually has a whooping 68 grams of sugar. It's definitely not the healthiest of choices, hence the 68 grams of sugar plus 460 calories, and this surprises customers.
When I first tried this drink, I was pleasantly surprised. It reminded me of fall with the cream colored base, orange pumpkin coldform and the smell of pumpkin spice. When I took my first sip, the flavors of cinnamon and chai erupted in my mouth. There was a subtle flavor of pumpkin, but enough to still taste it. The contrast between the spice of the chai and the smooth cold foam really added to the drink. At first, the chai was powerful, but the more I drank it, the more subtle it became, which was enjoyable.
This extravagant drink costs $6.45 for a Grande. And compared to Dunkin Donuts’ most popular fall drink, the Pumpkin spice signature latte, which is only $3, Starbucks’ Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte is more expensive. But I would say that's a pretty good price for a high quality drink because the rich velvety texture accounts for that price.
Furthermore, The Iced Pumpkin cream chai tea latte fits perfectly with Starbucks’ cozy aesthetic. It's perfect for a little study session tucked away in the corner of the cafe or when you just need a quick pick-me-up on your way to work. The Iced Pumpkin cream chai tea latte is the ideal drink for the pumpkin spice season.
The cozy, comfortable feeling of the cold foam and the acidity of the chai match together to create the perfect fall drink and is 100% worth the hype. The more I purchase the drink, the better it tastes. Nutrition and price aside , it's the perfect treat for the pumpkin spice season.
