My Life
It all started when I was 7 years old. it was a normal day , I had just finished playing outside with my cousins and some friends and I had to come inside to clean up because we had a party. After everyone was leaving at around 11pm, that's when I started to feel weird, i didn't think anything about it, mostly because i just thought i was tired. After an hour or two went by i started feeling worse so i decided to take a shower and go lay down after so i can be relaxed. When i was gathering my clothes. . . I wasn't able to breath, i was trying to scream for my parents but i couldn't so I ran outside to my parents and that's when they noticed i coulnt breath so they called the ambulance.
When I got to the hospital they asked me all these questions like “has this happened before”, “how are you feeling now,'' while the doctors were asking me all these questions they were connecting me to all these types of machines and remember i'm only 7 years old, I was so so scared. After like 30 minutes of going threw the worst moment ever they left me alone to relax and not be stressed so much. An hour went by and the doctor finally came in the room and told me why I couldn't breathe. She said “so we found out something” and of course me and my parents thought the worst. The doctor then went and said “ you have asthma” at first we didn’t know what that was mainly because im still a little kid and my parents didn’t really understand. So the doctors asked if we wanted a translater and they said yes. So after all that they understood and they kept me there overnight and for like 3 days.
After I was free to go my parents were taking extra care of me. They were scared something was really going to happen. I was fine, but my parents always asked me every day “are you ok”, “how are you feeling”. Sometimes I would get annoyed because they would ask every single day. I knew they were just making sure I was fine and that they loved me but i was a kid, I shouldn’t have to be thinking about that or stuff like that. I’m just trying to go outside and have fun with other kids and just be a kid and not have to worry about how my health is.
It’s been like 7 years since i’ve been living with asthma and it was all going well and then all of a sudden without a warning, it happened again I was unable to breath and by this time im 14 years old and I was still scared at this age because you never know what could happen. When it happened I was in my room and the only one in there with me was my brother. I didn’t wanna tell my parents what had happened because they would make a big deal about it. This was before I got my inhaler and all I did was try to catch my breath and It’s really difficult to do anything because you are not breathing and when something like that happens you don’t know what to do nor what’s going on.
My asthma has been good and it hasn’t been acting up i haven’t gotten any asthma attacks since that and it happened again when i was 16 but this time i was sleeping i woke up late night at like around 12 or later and it was the worst one i was sleeping and i just woke up and i didnt know what to do. it’s the scariest thing to go threw, i can’t even explain how it feels.
