LIVE WITHOUT
The Camera
Imagine all was lost, everything gone, never seen again, but you could save one thing.
This one thing could be whatever. Just thinking about it, I feel like I'm losing oxygen.
So many things, so many memories.
But you can only choose one thing. Mind rushes to tv, money, clothes, documents,
but then it sinks in…..
None have true value to you deep down
Then the mind goes to the little things trophies, pictures, collection things,
But none of them truly capture the essence of the memories that you have in your head
You sit there thinking hard and slowly realize nothing has the true value you thought
Nothing has it, nothing beside the pure memories that you have,
Think of photos….
BAM! I got it the family camera
Rummage through the drawers trying to find it,
Cant
Got to the living room, go through every little cupboard
Found it!
Holding it knowing I found it the thing I would save in whole house,
It holds everything I remember doing with my family and more it is my whole childhood.
It is what I would save, the relief in my heart that I truly have something that has value.
A shiver runs down my back as if wanting to let my eyes know its okay to cry
But i just sit there in silence.
