Solitude
Solitude
Is my solace
The only way
I can begin to heal
I’ve tried
Surrounding myself with friends
Drowning my feelings
And crying until I couldn’t anymore
Invariably
The only thing that works
Is to walk for miles
On the beach
Or through the mountains
Until I get to where I’m going
And cease to exist
Beyond the simplicity of breathing
Letting the very vastness
Swallow me
And wash away these persistent
Emotions
