Woe longing glance reflect the heart’s desire
And perceive the sun painted on sweet face
Enflame envious lust ever higher
Turning yet to fall from glorious grace
Asunder heart that beats against my will
Let evil rhythm transform failing course
To hold thy worth and have another trill
Close thy thoughts of betrayal and remorse
Yet reach and rise to that which sings of love
Cast from thy ship that which no longer serves
And grasp the olive branch brought by the dove
Yet wretched pleasure that flew from reserve
And rid me of this want that tortures so
Oh, let me free my adoration go!
